I have struggled with posting something on this site for quite some time. I want to declare my love for Israel….a WHOLE and UNdivided Israel, but then I read the posts of others and I realize how inadequate I am to really write anything significant that could even compare to others that write on this subject. I have never been to Israel, although it is a hope I hold near and dear to my heart and I think of that day every year on Pesach when we all raise our voices together and cry out “Next Year in Jerusalem!” The day will come when we will thank Hashem that we are now celebrating in Jerusalem and we will no longer make the declaration “Next Year in Jerusalem.” I will get there someday……hopefully sooner rather than later. But as inadequate as I may be, I am going to join my voice with all the others that hope and pray everyday that G-d protect Israel through these last days that we find ourselves in, and that the Holy Temple, and all of Israel will be restored quickly and in our time. And may we merit the coming of Moshiach in our time.

Everyday, the first thing I do is check the headlines to see what has happened in Israel overnight. I can’t explain enough that, as Israel goes, so goes the rest of the world. The world would not and can not survive without Israel. Countries that plan and call and hope for the destruction of the people that G-d Himself chose, are actually planning and calling for their own demise.

I almost feel like a spectator in this world rather than a participant. Almost as if I am standing on the sidelines and just watching. And what I see just floors me. I stand in amazement at what people do, at what people say, and what people think and it would seem as if the world has gone mad. What’s happening now makes no sense. There is no right and wrong anymore…..unless of course you choose to stand up for something you believe in. It would be at that point that you would be wrong. And so I shift back to the focal point of the whole world. Isn’t it amazing that the whole world is focused on a very small piece of land somewhere in the middle east? I know it’s not much, but to find out what is wrong with our world, I know I will have to start there. This little tiny country known as Israel is the place I will need to start my search, and I will work my way OUT from there. And I know, that at the end of my journey, I will find that the world got it wrong when it comes to Israel…..and now the world is the one in the wrong. Devastating earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, crop failures, economic failures…..and the list goes on. People stand up and blame global warming, our government, and whomever else they can think of on which to blame the ills of our world…..and yet the answer lies in that little, tiny piece of land somewhere in the middle east called…..Israel.

So this is the beginning of my search…..of my journey if you will, to find the cause. To try and find out where we first went wrong….where we first strayed from the plan that this world was created with. Many a people, religion, and nation have tried to change the Plan that G-d created this world with and according to. That has got to be arrogance at its finest. Because really, how can you hope to win such a battle? You really can’t, but that is a question for another day and another post.

For now, where and how we went wrong….and what seems to lie ahead…..and what is happening as a result, and what is happening at this moment is going to be my focus. I encourage all comments, thoughts, and ideas as this journey goes on. And when/if we get to the end……we might be surprised as to where we end up!
